Buongusto, Seattle

Like a cross between
paying a visit to a favorite Italian aunt's place and an afternoon
or evening at a fine, upscale restaurant on the southern coast of
Italy, a couple of hours spent at Buongusto is a refined, though
casual, affair.
With bright white linens, tile floors and decorative archways,
the essence of its coastal roots are successfully maintained without
slipping into the easily contrived. It is the anti-Beppo. Where Buca
di Beppo revels in its own boisterous, pasta-shucking charm, its
Queen Anne counterpart is a reserved, quietly graceful restaurant
that leaves it patrons alone to savor the regional cuisine and fine
wine (from an extensive list), but never go too far as to detach its
friendly and efficient service.
Perhaps a little expensive and adult for a family outing, but
perfect for business lunches or romantic evenings.
